What are printed patches?
Rich colour and photographic detail
Printed (sublimated) patches carry your design printed directly onto the fabric. The method is similar to printing a t-shirt, so the possibilities are almost endless.
Because nothing has to be simplified into thread, you get smooth gradients, rich colours and realistic images. You never need to compromise on picture quality or make your design less complex for production.
Add a border and choose iron on, sew on or hook and loop backing, just like our other patches.

How it compares
Printed or embroidered?
Printed patches are smooth and flat with photographic detail. If you prefer raised texture and a classic stitched look, choose embroidered patches. For fine text with a woven feel, see woven patches.

Shape
Circle, rectangle, shield or custom cut to shape (die cut).
Size
Most patches are between 2″ and 5″. Ask us about larger back patches.
Colours
Up to 9 standard thread colours without extra fees. Metallic and neon threads available.
Border
Merrowed (classic thick edge) or heat cut (clean edge, best for custom shapes).
Backing
Iron on, sew on, hook and loop (Velcro) or peel and stick.

Printed patch questions
Can you print a photo onto a patch?
Yes. Printed patches are made for photographic detail. Upload a good quality image with your quote request.
Is a printed patch the same as a sublimated patch?
Yes. Sublimation is the printing method we use for printed patches.
Which artwork files work best?
High resolution PNG, JPG, PDF or AI files work best. Files can be up to 5 MB each on the quote form.
